Duke University
Program in International Development Policy
As an undergraduate in Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Delft, Stephanie supervised the design and construction of a bridge during a three-month project in a remote area of Nepal . She continued her involvement and fundraising efforts for Nepali projects while completing her Masters in Civil Engineering. In 2002, she formed the Dutch Dipjoti Nepal Foundation, which is dedicated to helping the poorest people of Nepal achieve a better standard of living. Until 2005, Stephanie spent part of each year in Nepal , supervising the construction of 15 schools, 10 water supply systems and over 1000 sanitation facilities. While pursuing a masters degree in Duke's Program in International Development Policy she continues to raise funds and manage projects in Nepal . She hopes to complement what she has learnt at Duke with her working experience in Nepal and India (where she did her internship through UNICEF India) to become a valued practitioner in the field of international development.
